RED DOT
OR: A PSEUDO-ARCHIVE OF REPRESSION
23.08 / 13.09 / 2025
Duo-Show : Nodo Ugulava, Tekla Kighuradze
Location : Mzetopshop, Batumi

A Pseudo-Archive of Repression is a collection of flowers, weeds, and other invasive plants throughout the urban history. These overlooked plants try to reclaim their natural environment through finding the minimal living conditions, that of concrete, and seek life through the cracks.
The red dot however, tries to repress these creatures; maintaining order and artificiality of the constructed environment. The archive holds what once was: a history of life that was destroyed, which has remained as a distant memory–now in archive form.
With time, the feeling of guilt increases and the documentation continues.
Florabeton and red dot represent juxtaposing phenomena in humans, and the choice of which side we stand on is in our hands.
